Custom Jewelry Process

Creating custom jewelry with me is a flexible, collaborative experience. Most projects follow three main steps. You’re welcome to work with me on all of them — or just the parts you need.

Step 1: Choosing Your Diamond

If I’m sourcing a diamond for you:

  • I’ll curate a selection based on your budget and preferences.

  • Once you choose, I’ll invoice you for the price of the diamond before ordering.

  • Shipping times are usually 2–14 days, depending on where in the world the diamond is located.

  • When the diamond arrives, I verify the IGI laser inscription, then share detailed photos and videos (different lighting, on skin, in motion) for you to approve.

All diamonds I source are IGI certified, laser inscribed, and accompanied by a matching physical certificate. You’re always welcome - and encouraged - to have your stone checked by a local jeweler or appraised for insurance.

If you love the diamond, we move on to the next step. If it’s not quite right, that’s okay too—I want you to feel confident in your choice. If the diamond isn’t right, I’ll refund your payment (minus any vendor shipping/restocking fees).

If I already have the diamond in my inventory:

  • You’ll get a full photo/video album right away.

  • If you purchase but change your mind, you can refund or swap without restocking fees.

As with sourced diamonds, all of the stones in my inventory are IGI certified and laser inscribed, and come with a physical certificate for your records and verification.

Step 2: Designing the Setting

Once we’ve selected your diamond:

  • We'll review your inspiration pictures or sketches.

  • I’ll use these to request estimates from my trusted vendors.

  • If you want to move forward, I’ll invoice you for the price of the setting and begin production.

  • Within a few days, you’ll receive a CAD rendering. We’ll refine until it’s perfect.

  • After CAD approval, production takes about 2–3 weeks.

Prefer to use your own jeweler? No problem — I can ship the loose diamond to you or to your jeweler instead.

Step 3: Mounting the Diamond

If you’d like me to coordinate mounting:

  • My jeweler charges a flat fee for this service (usually $150.)

  • I’ll invoice you and oversee the work.

Or, if you prefer, I can ship you both the diamond and the custom setting for local mounting.

Timeline

From start to finish, most projects take 4-6 weeks, but to be on the safe side, I like to plan for a timeline of up to 8 weeks.

Please note: custom work depends on my current bandwidth and availability. I sometimes pause commissions if I’m at capacity, but I’ll always be upfront about my schedule before we begin.

Transparency & Trust

  • You’re always free to compare pricing. My goal isn’t to be the cheapest — it’s to be trustworthy and collaborative.

  • Payment timing happens in three phases: diamond → setting → mounting. You’re never committing to more than you’ve already seen and approved.

  • I work with excellent vendors and have access to industry pricing, but I’ll happily point you elsewhere if someone else has a better fit.
